We believe in fostering a healthy and safe atmosphere where children can grow, play, and thrive. As part of this mission, we are looking for a dedicated <strong>Childcare Cook<\/strong> to prepare nutritious and balanced meals for our little ones and also provide support to teachers and staff. <\/p>\n<p><b>What You&#8217;ll Do<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Meal Preparation<\/strong>: Plan and prepare daily meals and snacks that meet children&#8217;s nutritional needs and dietary restrictions (allergies, sensitivities, etc.) and CACFP guidelines and policies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Menu Planning<\/strong>: Develop seasonal and age-appropriate menus in line with national nutritional guidelines and parental preferences.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kitchen Management<\/strong>: Ensure the kitchen is kept clean, sanitized, and organized, adhering to food safety regulations and childcare center policies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Inventory &amp; Supplies<\/strong>: Manage food inventory, order supplies, and maintain a budget for kitchen expenses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Collaboration<\/strong>: Work closely with the childcare staff to accommodate special dietary needs and ensure meal schedules are met. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Compliance<\/strong>: Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food storage, hygiene standards, and meal portion control.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Support: <\/strong>Will occasionally work in a classroom and provide staff breaks and support staff with assistance. <\/p>\n<p><b>Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience<\/strong>: Previous experience in a similar role, especially within a childcare, school, or similar setting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of child nutrition and safe food handling.<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to handle dietary restrictions and allergies with care.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Certifications<\/strong>: Food handler certification required (or willing to obtain). CPR\/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain). Childcare professional development courses (or willing to obtain).
