Empowering your child's potential with a nurturing, innovative, and inclusive learning environment at Chroma Early Learning Academy.
Foundations for Learning is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established to expand access to high-quality early childhood education, afterschool enrichment, and family support services across Metro Atlanta.
We promote the optimal development of children from birth through age twelve by:
Our vision is a world where every child, regardless of background, can learn and thrive in a nurturing, inclusive environment supported by compassionate adults.
▪️Increasing access to quality early care and education
▪️Supporting out-of-school and afterschool opportunities
▪️Empowering educators through professional training
▪️Connecting families to essential community resources
Foundations for Learning was founded in 2025 by the leadership team of Chroma Early Learning Academy to build sustainable philanthropic support for Chroma’s growing network of schools.
The organization’s roots trace back to Cherokee Academy at Clayton. From that single school, Chroma has grown to 19 centers serving families throughout Henry, Fayette, Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Gwinnett, Fulton, Forsyth, Cherokee, Hall and Coweta counties.
As the need for affordable, high-quality education continued to rise, Foundations for Learning emerged to ensure that every family, regardless of income, could access the life-changing benefits of early education.
Chroma Early Learning Academy, Teddy's Market and our ownership has committed a minimum of $1,000,000 annually towards the initiative.
Foundations for Learning supports three core programs delivered through Chroma Early Learning Academy:
1. Early Care & Education
High-quality programs for children ages 6 weeks to kindergarten, designed around the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS).
▪️Scholarships for families with financial need
▪️Professional development for educators
▪️Curriculum enhancements and classroom materials
▪️2025 Goal: Provide 300 full-tuition scholarships and 120 hours of teacher training across 19 schools.
2. Out-of-School & Afterschool Programs
Safe, engaging programs for children ages 6–12, including transportation, academic support, and enrichment in STEM, arts, and athletics.
▪️400+ students served across Metro Atlanta
▪️Weekly enrichment activities and technology access
▪️Use of AI-assisted learning tools to build digital literacy
3. Direct Support Services
Foundations for Learning helps families meet essential needs that impact children’s well-being.
Planned initiatives include quarterly drives across nine counties, providing nutritious food, hygiene items, clothing, and age-appropriate toys, ensuring children have stability at home and in school.
▪️Families in Metro Atlanta spend 30–40% of their income on childcare—far above the federal recommendation of 7%.
▪️More than 50% of Georgia’s population lives in “child care deserts.”
▪️Afterschool hours (3–6 PM) remain the “danger zone” for unsupervised youth, increasing risks of crime and academic decline.
Through strategic fundraising and community partnerships, Foundations for Learning bridges these gaps, making early learning and enrichment affordable, accessible, and impactful
